Play a song in YouTube Music or any music app, and Now Playing CD shows it on a 90s CD player. A CD printed with the album cover spins, a new CD goes in when the album changes, and the remote controls your music app. Open it and the music app you last used picks up where you left off.
Now Playing CD doesn't play music itself. Your music app keeps playing as usual — Now Playing CD shows it and controls it.
Why notification access? On Android it's the only way to see what another app is playing (title, cover, position). Now Playing CD reads only playback info — never the contents of your notifications.
Open Menu → Settings → Skin to choose a player: Classroom (a slot-in player on a desk) or Bus (a portable player whose lid opens and closes).

The LCD shows the track number, time and "artist - title". READING means a new CD is being read; when music has been paused for a while, the time turns into a clock.
Tap the ⠿ button (nine dots) at the top right — the menu slides in from the right. Tap outside or ✕ to close. While the sleep timer runs, the minutes left show next to the button.

No song shows up. Check that Now Playing CD is on under notification access and that your music app is actually playing. App updates sometimes turn the access off — the prompt will appear again; tap Open settings.
▶ doesn't start a music app I've never used. Play a song in that app once (OPEN opens it); after that ▶ works.
The alarm doesn't ring. Make sure Alarms & reminders is allowed for Now Playing CD in Settings.

Album covers belong to their rights holders. Now Playing CD shows covers provided by your music app or found in public databases (MusicBrainz · Cover Art Archive), keeps them only on your device and doesn't distribute them.
